The concept of fruit of the poison tree comes to mind when quoting an american pastor.  I actually don’t know much about Robert Schuller beyond how entrancing his voice was when I flipped past the Hour of Power from the Crystal Cathedral on a Sunday morning as a thought-free child, searching basic cable for cartoons. know-it-all, know thyself

“I thought I was empathetic but I am only self-centeredly sympathetic.”

I’m doing some hobby psychoanalysis.  (If you can fix up a busted-up old car in your spare time why can’t tinker in the garage with a mind or two?)  One of my pro bono test patients, we’ll call him E for anonymity, wrote this down in his journal.  He journals things now and then and we talk about them.  Between the time he wrote this down and the time we sat down to talk about it, he’d forgotten what it means. What does “the shoe is on the other foot” even mean?

It was a summer’s dusk.  Does that even make sense?  It was getting dark, anyway, and it was summer.  We were four people who had just finished a shockingly entertaining round of miniature golf at a rural golfing megaplex none of us had ever visited before.  This was the kind of group that could find a way to make changing a lightbulb hilarious, which was lucky considering that miniature golf isn’t, really.
